Greetings from Gayleen

July 2026

Through July the economy has been strong in regional Queensland across infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, and regional investment.

The chilly southern winter, school holidays and regional events have all contributed to a much-needed boost to our regional economies. With heavy bookings seen across Queensland including North Queensland, the Outback and Southwestern regions all seeing increased visitation.

Local Government budgets have been released with large infrastructure investments in major developments being announced. Projects including upgrades to roads, water and sewer infrastructure, as well as parks and sporting facility across many local government areas are planned and they will all support employment in the regions.

Investment in infrastructure remains the strong economic and employment driver with mining exports, our ports and agriculture all winners for our regions.  The Mackay -Hay Point Bulk Ports upgrade tenders have been released. Winter crop harvesting and cattle all continue to play an important boost to our economy and local jobs.

AI continues to be the hot topic in the jobs market. So far it is proving to enable people to work at levels that were not possible by removing capability limits. It is something the wise employers and employees are exploring and not being afraid of.

We are excited to start the new financial year and embrace the changing economy and new opportunities for employment that we forecast.

Thank you for your continued support and please do not hesitate to contact me or our team if you are looking for great staff or a new career opportunity.
