Greetings from Gayleen

August 2026

August has continued to bring positive activity across regional Queensland, with infrastructure investment, tourism and agriculture supporting employment and business confidence.

Tourism has remained strong through the winter months, with Queensland continuing to attract visitors from the colder southern states. New investment in regional tourism experiences and accommodation continues to support local businesses and employment. This has provided a welcome boost for local businesses, accommodation providers and hospitality operators.

Planning for future growth is gaining momentum. Infrastructure remains one of the strongest drivers of employment. New regional plans are focused on housing, infrastructure and economic growth, highlighting the continued need for skilled people across Local Government, construction, engineering, finance, planning and corporate services.

Agriculture and resources continue to provide a strong foundation for the regional Queensland economy, while new investment and technology are creating opportunities across a wider range of industries.

AI also continues to change the workplace. Rather than simply replacing jobs, we are increasingly seeing it used as a tool to help people work more efficiently, improve productivity and expand what individuals and businesses can achieve. Employers and employees who are prepared to learn how to use these tools effectively will be well placed as workplaces continue to evolve.

As we move into Spring, we remain optimistic about the opportunities ahead. Investment, population growth and ongoing demand for skilled people continue to create opportunities for both employers and job seekers throughout our regions.

Thank you for your continued support. If you are looking for great people to join your team, or considering your next career opportunity, please contact me or the Precruitment team.
