Greetings from Gayleen

– April 2023

This month we are delighted to welcome Brendon Dyer to our team at Precruitment. Brendon has over 10 years recruitment experience in our region. With great interpersonal skills, he is highly respected with an established network in many industries. Brendon will manage our Commercial recruitment sector across a broad scope of professions. Welcome to the team Brendon, we know our clients and candidates will enjoy working with you to help source great candidates and to assist with career opportunities.

April is always a busy calendar full of special events that make the month fly by. Easter is always a time for families and friends to enjoy a four-day break. It is an opportunity for many to get away and others to reflect on this most important Christian event. Tourism numbers across regional Queensland were boosted with the busiest time airports had seen since pre-covid and most regional areas booked out for all accommodation and camping spots. We enjoyed a trip to the Burdekin Falls Dam. The tiny van park was built in the 80’ to house the dam workers and has remained open for the public to enjoy. The water levels were high with overflows spilling across the dam wall into the mighty Burdekin River.

We commemorated Anzac Day at the Cairns march this year. It was the 50-year anniversary since combat troops pulled out of the conflict in Vietnam. Being a veteran, Colin took part in the march proudly wearing his military medals to pay respect and reflect on his personal experiences and losses of people he served with and fought against. This year my son Cameron, marched by his side. I hope you had the opportunity to reflect on the many sacrifices our armed forces have made during conflicts over many years, past and present.  Lest we forget.

Colin and I are busy preparing for our trip across the depth and breadth of regional Queensland to visit many of our clients including in some of our most remote towns and communities. We will keep you updated with photos and highlights along the way.
