Greetings from Gayleen

September 2025

Precruitment has always enjoyed a culture of volunteering and supporting community organisations. This month I have been honoured to participate in the Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards as a judge. These prestigious awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of businesses and emerging leaders in our community. The finalists for each of the ten categories demonstrate the passion and dedication of the businesses that drive our economic growth and the future of our regions.  Good to luck to all the finalists.

We are excited to be a sponsor in the upcoming production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert which was a great movie, and I know the stage show as performed by the Choral Society will be fantastic.  The community of volunteers have supported the society with wonderful sold-out musicals since 1923.

I have been invited to participate in our industry governing body the RCSA executive leadership group to help build recruitment capability and meet the challenges and changes in recruitment for our clients. AI continues to be a hot topic. With unemployment levels holding at around 4% we continue to face skills shortages and demands for professionals across every sector and industry.

The economy has been a little nervous with inflation up, interest rates on hold and the announcement of coal mines flagged to be mothballed until demand picks up. The positives are our diverse economy with health, energy, construction, services and tourism sectors all performing well. We also benefit from the ongoing boost of Olympic stimulus being invested into many communities.

Congratulations to Quilpie State College who was named #3 in State Schools for academic highest standards, what an amazing feat for such a small outback community. Speaking of winners what a great game Brisbane Lions and the Broncos played, both such exciting teams, go Queenslanders.

Our leadership coach and partner Andrea Tunjic has her last program for 2025 stating on the 7th of October. This 8 week Leadership Essentials Program  has received outstanding feedback from all participants and is a great investment for your management team.
