Greetings from Gayleen

August 2025

August has been a busy month across Regional Queensland, with plenty happening on the economic front and in our local communities we are well positioned for exciting opportunities ahead.

With forecasts showing strong employment growth, especially in health care and community services where employment is expected to grow by a staggering 17%, manufacturing, agriculture and tourism are also strong in the regions, keeping Queensland’s unemployment levels below the national average. The state’s new biosecurity taskforce has begun rolling out in towns including Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Biloela, Charleville and Cairns, helping to protect our primary industries and support jobs. This initiative has $50 million funding and includes a new biosecurity squad of 100 officers working with councils, they will target fire ants and invasive plants, pests and diseases.

Winter events have kept towns buzzing through the regions with local agricultural shows in Rockhampton, Charleville, Emerald and the Ekka bringing families and visitors together to celebrate rural life. Congratulations to the Mount Isa Rodeo which was a great success with record attendance, and thanks to the volunteers and the support of the local community who brought the rodeo back to life.

Precruitment has seen some changes this year with the semi-retirement of Sandy after 10 fabulous years of service and significant contribution to our team and clients. Utilising her skills Sandy is still available to help us/clients with special projects. We have expanded our team in Brisbane with Brock O’Brien joining Cameron and Alissa. We now have another change with Daria moving on to new ventures. Daria has been our temp consultant for almost 5 years. Her dedication, sense of fun and friendship will be greatly missed by us all and we wish her the very best in her adventures. As Daria would always say, God Bless.

Our team currently have a variety of highly skilled candidates and great career opportunities with temporary and permanent roles across Queensland, so please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can help you with any recruitment/career assistance.
