Greetings from Gayleen
– June 2020
With some virus control restrictions lifting in Queensland it has been great to get out and about and support our local hospitality and tourism operators that have been able to re -start their business operations. Now that we can travel throughout our State, Colin and I are starting on our annual trip to visit our clients throughout regional Queensland. We will travel on this trip over 7,000 kilometres and visit and stay in 30 shire regions throughout north and western Queensland. We are very excited to explore, once again, our amazing state. As we make our forward bookings in the caravan parks it has been pleasing to hear that many are now filling up with bookings and tourism to the regions is back in business. One park owner told us that people are visiting outback Queensland who normally head to Bali and other places. They say it is the first time they have travelled in regional and outback Queensland and how much they are loving the adventure and exploring the country in our own back yard.
I will be posting photos on our Instagram & Facebook pages, follow us to see the updates.
This month has seen some increased activity in recruitment in some sectors, which is a promising sign. We have been successful securing Preferred Supplier Arrangements for recruitment services with two major employers. This will provide employment opportunities throughout regional Queensland which is great news.
More great news! Precruitment has been shortlisted as a finalist in the RCSA industry awards! The RCSA is the recruitment industry professional body. We are a finalist for ‘Australia – Excellence in CSR’ – Corporate Social Responsibility award. Precruitment has a long-standing and proud culture of involvement in volunteer activities with our communities. Amongst our activities we have, mentored and coached Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and helped youth and disadvantaged people with job ready skills as well as provided cultural awareness training to the broader community and our clients. We are currently leading the way with a free initiative to help the huge list of unemployed through the Government and Industry initiative JobFinder. Please click on the link if you or someone you know could benefit from this great service to help in their job search at this time.
Queensland has achieved excellent results keeping Covid at bay. Let us wish every success to the other States so that we can welcome them to holiday and travel amongst us soon. All our team are working in the office, covid-safe, so please call if we can help you with anything at all. Some clients are hiring under various isolation or Covid policies and guidelines. If you need some ideas on how you can hire staff at this time, please ask us.
I look forward to giving you our trip update, photos and ‘state of our state’ report next month.
